KEA portal crashes during mock seat allotment

Last Updated 17 June 2015, 19:22 IST

There was confusion among the CET students and their parents as the official website of Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), kea.kar.nic.in, crashed for a brief period on Wednesday.

KEA had opened the option entry for mock allotment of seats from June 10. The option entry would be open till 10 am on June 22. However, this is not for real allotment of seats, but only a trial round.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Sushama Godbole, DPUE Director, said that few students and parents had called the office anxiously. She allayed their fears, saying that the problem would not affect the seat allotment process in any way. “This is the trial round. This option entry is done to test the load and to determine how many students are entering the options,” she said.

The mock allotment results will be announced on June 23, after 5 pm, according to the officials.

Meanwhile, following the revaluation results of PU board exams, KEA has awarded spot ranks to 1,639 candidates. Among a total of 3,451 CET candidates who had applied for revaluation, there has been change in marks in the case of 2,320 candidates, out of which 1,048 candidates got improvement in their ranks while 591 candidates got their ranks reduced, an official release stated.
