Sanmith's death: Forensic reports awaited

The Periyapatna police, who are probing into the suspicious death of a four-year-old boy recently, are waiting for the post-mortem report and opinion from forensic science experts in Bengaluru.

Both the reports are expected on June 22.

Answering media queries, SP Abhinav Khare said, “Following the death of Sanmith, a nursery student of Pushpa School, three expert doctors from K R Hospital in Mysuru performed the autopsy. A team of forensic experts from Bengaluru have also gathered clues.

However, no external injuries were found on his body. It is only on the basis of the reports, the investigators will arrive on a conclusion”.

The SP explained that the boy was in the school till 2.45 pm on June 10, when he was stopped by the security guard from going outside the main gate, as recorded on the CCTV camera.

The classes are conducted for nursery students from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm.

 A total of 17 CCTV cameras are installed in the school, but nursery division lacks surveillance facility. However, it is not known how the boy reached the pond outside the school, from where his body was recovered.

The forensic experts have also collected the samples of blood stains found near the water tank inside the school. However, it is not known if it is that of the boy or not.

Following the complaint, the police have booked a murder case under IPC section 302 against the missing complaint that was lodged earlier.
