House-to-house survey of dengue

After several cases of dengue came to light in Bengaluru Urban District, Health department officials have now ordered a house-to-house survey.

As many as 44 cases have been reported from the area, according to statistics provided by the department. Fear grips Madappanahalli in Sarjapura where many people are suffering from the fever. A team of health staff has been constituted to carry out source reduction activity at Sarjapura Hobli. Also, health education session is being conducted to educate masses about mosquito control measures.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Dr M Rajini, District Health Officer, Bengaluru Urban, said: “In view of suspected dengue cases reported at Madappanahalli in Anekal, stringent control measures are being taken in the village. A fever treatment clinic has been set up to screen the suspected cases.”
