Hitching her wagon to the stars

Hitching her wagon to the stars

Bollywood actress Daisy Shah was last seen working opposite actor Raghu Mukherjee in ‘Akramana’ and hasn’t really committed to any other project since then.

“I have been getting a lot of offers from the Kannada film industry but I haven’t accepted anything just as yet because I didn’t find anything worth my time. I have
begun concentrating on Bollywood at the moment,” says Daisy.

Daisy is more than happy to keep herself engaged doing a lot of other things that she otherwise doesn’t get time for.

She has taken to learning horseriding in a big way. “I have some spare time and I’ve begun to learn horseriding because that’s something that I’ve always wanted to learn but never found the time for,” says Daisy.

Sharing her experiences working in the Kannada film industry, Daisy says she has no problem following Kannada but can’t speak it that fluently. “There’s a lot of similarity between Marathi and Kannada but I make it a point to understand the meaning. Learning Kannada is a constant process for me,” she adds.

However, Daisy says that while she had a great experience working in the Kannada film industry, she feels the heroines are kept in the dark when it comes to a lot of things.

“I am glad that ‘Akramana’ did well but the producer didn’t bother to inform me about the progress of the film. I found that quite funny,” she says.

Recalling some of her past projects, Daisy says more than memorable, acting with Salman Khan in ‘Jai Ho’ was a learning experience.

“You learn to be disciplined when you work with Salman. He also taught me that one must always challenge oneself rather than get stuck with comparisons. You learn a lot of things from established stars just by observing them,” she notes.

Daisy has also been roped in to play a prominent role in ‘Hate Story 3.’
“I can’t talk much about the character but the only thing that I can reveal at the moment is that it’s quite different from the previous sequels. Those who have watched the earlier versions can spot the difference,” she explains.

There’s no compromise on staying fit, says Daisy and adds that she doesn’t know what it is like to get lazy when it comes to exercising.

“I hit the gym seven days a week and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. I spend almost half-a-day at the gym on my off days. This is how I pamper myself,” she says.
