Last Updated 25 June 2015, 19:10 IST

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Congress party was not scared of contesting the BBMP elections.

“We are ready to face the elections. But, in a few wards, there is a difference in population. Thus the State government suggested delimitation of wards, revising  reservation list and holding elections after the division of the Palike.

He was speaking on the sidelines after inaugurating Peenya Industries Association Expo on Thursday. Keeping in view the BBMP administration and the development of the City, division of Palike was recommended, he added.

Speaking about the lottery scam, he said the true colours of BJP has been exposed after the lottery scam kingpin Martin’s son joined the BJP. “There is a difference between what BJP preaches and what it practices,” he said.

He also lashed out at JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy’s padyatara and termed it a gimmick ahead of the BBMP elections.

Earlier, the chief minister also announced that on the lines of Electronic City, Peenya will also have an industrial township. He also assured the industrialists to consider the demand of decreasing the lease period from 99 years to 10 years for SMEs.
