Man stabs idli seller over money matter

A man stabbed a 36-year-old woman at Mallesh Palya on Saturday evening due to a tiff. ccording to police, the victim was Devi, a resident of Thippasandra. She was selling idlis on a push cart for livelihood at Malleshpalya.

She and the accused Krishna were living in neighbouring houses a couple of years ago at Jagadish Nagar. Then, Devi had borrowed money from Jagadish.

After she shifted her house, Devi started dodging Krishna and used to give reasons whenever he used to ask her to return the money.

On Saturday night, Krishna went near her push cart and demanded her to return the money. Devi again cited reasons. In a fit of rage, Krishna took a knife and stabbed her and fled the scene.

The public rushed her to a nearby hospital and she is said to be out of danger. The police, who were informed about the matter, have arrested Krishna. A case has been registered at Byappanahalli police station in this regard. Further investigation is on, the police said.
