The Supreme Court on Thursday sought a reply from the Centre on a fresh plea made by a farmers’ organisation challenging the decision to re-promulgate the land acquisition ordinance.
A bench of Justices J S Khehar and Adarsh Kumar Goel gave four weeks time to the government to file its response on the petition filed by Delhi Gramin Samaj.
Additional Solicitor General Pinky Anand accepted the notice on behalf of the government. She also sought further time for responding to a similar plea made by a group of farmers union earlier in April.
