Sri Somanathaswamiji of Sri Adichunchanagiri Branch Mutt said the Kumbh Mela would start with the offering of ‘Ankurarpane’ to Lord Agasteshwara-the presiding deity, on Thursday morning. There would be homas on all three days and ganga pooja in evenings. A procession of seers will be held on January 29. The Kumbh Mela will take place on January 30 at 9:15 am. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and a host of ministers will participate.
