Jangid spins Vidarbha to win over TN

Ravi Jan­gid ripped through the heart of Tamil Nadu batting with a six-wicket haul to set up Vidarbha’s come-from-behind win on the fourth and final day of their match in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappaiah memorial cricket tournament here at the SDNRW ground on Friday.

Having conceded a narrow 22-run lead, Vidarbha fought back through left-arm spinner Jangid who returned a rich haul of 6/43 to skittle Tamil Nadu for 99 in 48.4 overs. Needing 122 runs for victory, Vidarbha replied with 124 for two for an eight-wicket win. Ganesh Satish, who had scored 115 in the first innings, remained unbeaten on 55. Vidarbha collected six points for their win.

In another match at the JCE ground, Gujarat crushed Kerala by an innings and 72 runs to earn seven points.

After scoring a mammoth 497 all out, Gujarat bowled out Kerala for 313 and 112 in the first and second innings respectively.
