In his 90-minute Independence Day speech from the ramparts of Red Fort, Modi explained how his government’s initiatives have resulted in removing corruption from different aspects of governance, making refence to auction of coal, spectrum and FM radio licences. He also mentioned the PAHAL scheme for direct transfer of cooking gas subsidy, which has resulted in savings of Rs 15,000 crore to the exchequer.
