Pandit Prabhakar Karekar from Mumbai has been selected for this year’s Pandit Basavaraj Rajguru National Award. The award instituted by the Pandit Basavaraj Rajguru National Memorial Trust carries a purse of Rs one lakh and a memento.
Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, Chandrakanth Bellad, the president of the Trust, said that Arathi Naik of Goa and Sridhar Hegde of Honnavar have been selected for the youth award. This award carries a purse of Rs 25,000 and a memento.
The award will be presented at a ceremony to be held on August 24 at Srujana Rangamandira.
