JOIN USLow-cost carrier AirAsia on Thursday announced the appointment of Mittu Chandilya as Managing Director of AirAsia India, in addition to his role as chief executive officer.
The AirAsia India Board appointed Chandilya as the managing director and the first full-time independent executive director of the company.
Chandilya’s appointment to the new role is part of AirAsia India’s first management revamp, since commencing operations in June 2014.
According to AirAsia India Chairman S Ramadorai, “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mittu on being unanimously chosen by the AirAsia India Board to become the Managing Director in addition to his current role as the CEO. He has managed to propel the airline forward in terms of its scale of operations and turn every challenge into an opportunity by building an agile and secure operations structure.”
