All is Well
Hindi (U)
Cast: Abhishek Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Asin, Supriya Pathak
Director: Umesh Shukla
Rating: *

Abhishek Bachchan is looking for an escape. First, from his warring parents — Rishi Kapoor and Supriya Pathak —  who have mistaken the movie for a “who shouts wins” contest. Second, from a desperate Asin who refuses to believe that her man isn’t smitten enough to say “yes”.

There is no escape route, though. Bachchan is forced to leave his pursuit for a
rockstar career abroad and return to the loud, mad, crude world called home. On his way back, he is unfortunate enough to bump into Asin, twice. And that’s enough for our lady to scream “signs” and cling back to the reluctant Romeo.

“We are meant to be together,” she coos. “Sorry,” he shoos her away.

Meanwhile, another clinger — Rishi Kapoor — holds on tightly to his loss-making
bakery where the only thing that keeps him busy are crosswords. Supriya Pathak is thoroughly wasted as an Alzheimer’s patient who roams around like a zombie for the most part.

Sonakshi Sinha thunders in with an  item song, but it’s too late to nudge back the viewer who has gone numb with cinematic absurdities.

By the time all the quarrelling parties come around and say mea culpa, the damage is done.

Stay away, nothing has gone well here. And for all those who have already watched — get well soon.
