The programme was organised to distribute subsidies and other materials under various schemes, along with a seminar. Before the Minister could react another group which had just then been felicitated shot back that the department had distributed subsidies 6 months ago and ‘ not to talk without having any information.’

Reacting to this Kallipur Srinivas said he had not been given the Rs 75 ,000 subsidy even after two years.

M Govinda Gowda supported his claim. At this juncture both groups clashed and ZP president M Srinivasan came down from the dais and tried to calm the clashing groups.
At that point some farmers in the audience shouted that ‘while the real farmers were silent, the group politics had taken over.’

The Minister then addressed the gathering and said he was very dissoppointed that when he came to their door steps to listen to their troubles, it was not appropriate for them to fighting amongst themselves and he cannot do anything about it.’
