“Smart Vote for ward 151,” the online campaign designed to boost voter participation in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) polls, has attracted over two lakh hits on the website with 350 unique daily visits since Jan 1. Campaign founder Prithvi Reddy told Deccan Herald that the website is divided into two portions, one meant for the residents of Kormangala ward and another for the general voter for the upcoming BBMP election. “We included the general voters list for all people in the BBMP jurisdiction, making it user friendly for citizens to identify their names,” said Prithvi.

The Koramangala segment is the more “in-focus” campaign where voters will be enabled to make an informed choice in electing their councillor. It provides a profile of all candidates. The campaign will include a door-to-door visits by the campaign representatives.

The  Campaign has  formed a citizen’s council with elected members “who hold no statutory power will operate in the spirit of the committees envisioned by the 74th constitutional amendment and work with the elected councillor...”
