Gondkar leads Dharwad's challenge

 Shubhan Gondkar picked 5/46 to give Dharwad Zone an edge over Bangalore Zone on the opening day of their under-19 KSCA inter-zonal cricket tournament match on Monday.

Batting first, Bangalore were bowled out for 163 runs in 55.5 overs, courtesy of good bowling from Shubham and Naveen Gadadinni (3/26) for Dharwad.

In reply, Dharwad were sitting comfortably at 135/2 in 40 overs, with Swapnil Yelave batting on 58.

In another tie, President’s XI were in firm control of their tie as Tejas Gowda slammed a commanding 74 to help his side score 296/5 against Tumkur Zone.

In reply, Tumkur were 18/3 at the end of the day, with Suraj Kamat claiming 2/9 for the President’s XI.
