Ferrari aims at 15 unit sales by 2015-end in India
Italian car maker Ferrari has set an ambitious sales target of 15 units for the rest of 2015. “We are aiming to sell around 15 units by the end of this year,” Ferrari (Sales Coordinator) Middle East & Africa Aurelien Sauvard said.

Currently, around 50 Ferraris zip on Indian roads. The company, which had ended its relationship with the Shreyans Group as its dealer, has marked a comeback into the Indian market through the launch of the California T with a price tag of Rs 3.45 crore.

The California T will be the cheapest model from Ferrari to be available in the country. The California T has retained features such as the 2+2 concept, a refined cabin and the retractable hard top.

The direct-injection, 3,855 cc turbocharged 8-cylinder engine delivers 412 kW at 7,500 rpm, which translates into a specific power output of 107 kW/litre — the highest in its segment — along with a maximum torque of 755 Nm. Ferrari will be opening two dealerships, one in Mumbai and another in Delhi. Select Cars has been chosen as the dealer in Delhi, while Shreyans will sell Ferrari cars in Mumbai.

Sauvard said that the company may open more showrooms as well. “We are evaluating our options. In case, we find that there is a need to open new showrooms elsewhere, we will definitely do that,” Sauvard said.
