In a memorandum submitted to the Additional DC S N Gangadharaiah recently, the councillors have stated that the one post of Assistant engineer, two posts of junior engineers, one post each of environmental engineer and secretary, two posts of health inspector, three vacancies of revenue inspector and seven posts of bill collectors are vacant.
Administration of the municipality and public services have suffered due to staff shortage. The plea submitted to the Deputy Commissioner on earlier occasion failed to yield any result, they have stated in their memorandum.
