HC withholds exam results of former judge

Last Updated 31 August 2015, 21:26 IST

The High Court has ordered to withhold the results of  district judge exam of SM Shivabeeriah, a former civil judge.

The orders were passed on a petition filed by the High Court of Karnataka, represented by the Registrar General, challenging the single bench order which had allowed Shivabeeraiah to write the district judge exam.

Shivabeeriah was removed as the civil judge as he was facing serious allegations.

After the High Court Judges' Committee recommended the State government to discharge the civil judge of his duties, he was discharged.  However, he had approached the High Court seeking directions to write the district judge exams and the single bench had permitted him.

A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice B V Nagarathna ordered notice to the former civil judge.
