Chintamani municipality to look for illegal property khatas

The resolution was adopted following allegations by the councillors that few officials in the municipality were facilitating in creating false khata of the properties owned by the CMC.

The councillors alleged that the direction to identify and safeguard the property belonging to City Municipal Council issued on earlier occasions have not been complied with. The properties have not been fenced and boards not displayed in spite of clear instructions.

The councillors also expressed concern over increasing stray dog menace in the City. It was decided to sterilise the canines to check the menace. Municipal president Venkataravanaswamy directed to allot new door numbers for all the houses under Nirmala scheme. The meeting gave its approval for all the tenders called for utilisation of State Finance Commission grants.

Councillors Abbugundu Srinivasa Reddy, C N Venkatesh, Chowda Reddy, Mohammed Ghouse, Anwar, standing committee chairman Shivaiah, in-charge commissioner Raikar were present.

Notice issued

Chintamani tahsildar has issued notice to a a person who has availed benefits under Sandhya Suraksha Yojana allegedly by furnishing false information.   G  R Veerabhadrappa and others of Ulavadi had lodged a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner alleging that one Thimmarayappa of Aimareddy village had obtained the benefit of the scheme by furnishing wrong information on his date of birth. They have enclosed a copy of their primary school marks card along with their complaint.

The tahsildar, in his notice has said that the facts stated in the complaint appear to be true prima facie. According the document furnished with the complaint, the age of the beneficiary is 54 years six months and there is no provision to grant allowance under Sandhya Suraksha for persons of this age.

“Availing benefit by furnishing false information amounts to an unlawful act,” the notice says asking the beneficiary to show reasons as to why the sanction cannot be cancelled, within three days of receipt of the notice
