JOIN USMohammad Naved, the Pakistani terrorist captured soon after the attack on BSF convoy in Udhampur, was a “habitual gambler” who once stole 30,000 Pakistani rupee from his brother to indulge in gambling, according to a dossier prepared by the security agencies to be handed over to Pakistan during now aborted NSA level talks.
Based on the interrogation of Naved and other details collected by the investigating agencies, the dossier said he was “particularly addicted” to a card game locally known as “maang patta” and on one occasion, he lost as much as Pakistani rupee 30,000, which he had stolen from his brother Naveed.
The dossier also lists the details of his family, neighbours, close friends, mobile number and his government identity card.According to the dossier, he underwent training in Lashkar-e-Taiba camps thrice since 2011. The dossier lists the names of 17 trainers in these camps and around a dozen youth trained in such facilities.
Naved was motivated to join LeT by one Maulvi Bashir, whose mobile number also finds a mention in the dossier. Bashir introduced him to one Abdullah Sultan in Faisalabad who took him and another around a dozen boys to Manshera to attend the training in 2011.
In late 2011, he along with 180 youth attended the 21-day “Daura-e-Aam” session. Quoting Naved, the dossier said the training was held in Kulhari camp, which has now been shifted to Ghazi Habibullah in Muzaffarabad. Naved in the 2011 camp was given the alias “Usman” .
During this period, the training was administered thorough oral lectures and multimedia tools such as videos on “alleged attrocities” being committed on Muslims in Palestine and Kashmir among other places.
The day for such “trainees” started at 3:30 am and extended till 10 pm.The second training camp was longer and held between August-December in 2014. The “Daura-e-Khas” camp was held for 40 trainees in a jungle near Muzaffarabad.
