JOIN USTelangana’s Gayatri Gopichand Pullela, daughter of national badminton coach P Gopichand, clinched three titles in the All-India Sub-junior ranking badminton tournament here on Sunday.
Gayatri won the singles title in the girls’ under-15 and under-13 categories as well the doubles crown in the under-13 section.
Unseeded in the U-15 category, Gayatri rallied from an opening game loss to defeat seventh-seeded Malvika Bansod of Maharashtra 15-21, 23-21, 21-8.
Top seed in under-13 singles, Gayatri was too good for Samiya Farooqui Imad, defeating the second seed 21-10, 21-17. Gayatri then teamed up with Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka to beat Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker 16-21, 21-15, 21-19 in the under-13 doubles final and complete a fine treble.
