Doctor demanded for PHC

The protesters said that they had to go to Chintamani general hospital or district hospital in Kolar for medical assistance due to absence of the doctor at PHC. They demanded appointment of a permanent doctor to the health facility, modernisation of maternity ward, 24 hours service and action against doctors staying away from the hospital.

District Health Officer Dr Ramesh Babu who arrived at the spot received memorandum and promised to take necessary steps. The villagers withdrew their protest following the assurance. Taluk Medical officer Dr Narayanaswamy was also present.
