Last Updated 10 September 2015, 20:37 IST

Two policemen attached to the Upparpet traffic police station were suspended for dereliction of duty during a surprise inspection.

Seenaiah, assistant traffic sub-inspector and Channaiah, constable, were posted at the Cafe Coffee Day junction in Yelahanka. They were in charge of regulating traffic and diverting heavy vehicles as a high-profile function was being held in Yelahanka, said a senior police officer.

When DCP (Traffic-West) S Girish surprised them, he found that the cops were ignoring their tasks. He then summoned the two and suspended them. Girish said, “We had instructed them to regulate the traffic and divert heavy vehicles but they were not performing their duties properly. So we have placed them under suspension and will conduct on enquiry.”
