Union minister blames govt 'inaction' for power crisis

Union Minister of State for Textiles Santosh Gangwar on Friday blamed the ruling Congress for the ongoing power crisis.

On Friday, he said, “The country is generating huge quantity of power. In fact, there is no dearth of power. But the State has failed to manage it properly. The chief minister and Energy minister should be held responsible for it. Farmers have lost their crops as they could not irrigate their crops due to load shedding,” he said.

The power crisis has worsened as the State did not take precautionary measures. But there was no energy crisis when BJP was in power. The Congress-led government has failed to deliver the goods, he said.

He also accused the UPA government of doing nothing for the welfare of soldiers over the last 40 years. But the BJP-led government in the Centre has resolved long-pending pension issue.

Referring to the controversial Land Acquisition Bill, he said farmers would not be affected by this. In fact, they would get more compensation.
