Two City dogs have been selected for the “Cutest Indian Dog Alive - 2015” contest of community dogs.

The competition is being organised by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). They invited applications for lovable Indian community dog. The two dogs from Bengaluru chosen are - Maximus and Bambi. Their guardians are Dipika Menon and Aishwarya Radhakrishna, respectively.

“When I moved in two years ago, I spotted Maximus, a stray, on a cold rainy night. He was diagnosed with cancer. After three chemotherapy sessions, he is now completely cured,” Dipika said.

Aishwarya said Bambi was 10 days’ old when her family had picked her to give away for adoption. “When learnt that the puppy was abandoned deliberately by a neighbour, we decided to keep her with us for a few days. Now she is a part of our family,” she added.

The list of 10 finalists can be seen on PETA website and people can vote for the cutest dog until September 23. The winners will be crowned on September 28.

The winning puppy will be named as the Cutest Indian Dog Alive and winners will receive certificates and doggie T-shirts. They will also be a part of the upcoming issue of Animal Times, PETA India’s magazine.
