The in-charge registrar Lokayukta has forwarded the government order for inquiry into the seizure of cash and assets made at an apartment, belonging to senior IAS officer Kapil Mohan, to ADGP Lokayukta. Sources said the government order stated that an inquiry be conducted by the Lokayukta police into the assets and cash seized from the apartment.

“The government order specifically states that the allegations and materials seized from the apartment by the Criminal Investigation Department officials require a probe under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act. Hence, the letter has been forwarded to the ADGP Lokayukta,'' an official said.

Sources said the Lokayukta police will hold a preliminary inquiry into the seizures made at a posh apartment in Yeswantpur.

Based on a tip-off by the Income Tax Department, the CID officials had searched the 6th floor-flat of Maple Block at Golden Grand properties in Yeswantpur on August 5 and seized Rs 4.37 crore in cash, gold and diamonds worth crores of rupees and property documents. The documents revealed that the apartment was bought by a firm PSK Finance Solutions Pvt Limited, in which Kapil Mohan's father Naresh Mohan, his son Ahaan Mohan and another relative Mithlesh Saxena are directors.
