Last Updated 20 September 2015, 21:28 IST

Karnataka umpire CK Nandan will make his international debut when he officiates in the second Twenty20 international between India and South Africa to be held in Cuttak on October 5.

Nandan, who represented Karnataka in three first-class matches, will also serve as a TV umpire in the two ODIs at Indore and Rajkot and the fourth and final Test match against the Proteas in New Delhi.

"I’m extremely happy with this achievement and to be able to make it to the international panel will inspire me further," said Nandan, who has stood in more than 60 domestic first-class matches and nearly 30 IPL matches.

The 51-year-old is the fourth Indian to be inducted into the ICC International panel of umpires this year, following the appointment C Shamshuddin of Hyderabad, Vineet Kulkarni of Pune and Anil Choudhary of Delhi.

Nandan, a senior manager at the HAL aircraft division here, has also officiated in the domestic matches in South Africa and county ties in England as part of the BCCI's umpires exchange programme earlier this year.
