JOIN USRealty major Prestige Group Chairman and Managing Director Irfan Razack on Monday said that ‘ease of doing business’ is just a slogan now, but in due course, it must be provided fully for the good of the economy.
Addressing delegates at the Founder’s Day of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), Razack said, “If we take into consideration our (real estate) sector, for every one million square feet of area that is built, over 10,000 jobs are created, which also helps grow the economy through job generation. We need an enabler who will support us, since we are part of this economic growth.”
Similarly, Razack said that implementation of many of the government’s novel schemes (such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) must begin, which will add to development.
Razack, who was awarded the Sir MV Memorial Award by FKCCI for his contributions to innovation and industry, also said that for an industry, the foundations of trust, honesty, passion and vision are a key.
“We, businessmen, take risks and work. For us, money and profit come secondary. What’s more important is the sense of achievement,” he said.
