JOIN USRahul DR clocked 48.8 seconds to claim the gold in the men’s 400M event on the second day of the 51st Bangalore University Inter-collegiate athletic meet here at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Tuesday.
Salim H Sheikh, who claimed the top spot in the 200M race on Monday, came second (49.5). He was closely followed by Pruthvi GL (50 seconds) in the third place.
Rashmitha S bettered her own record to claim the gold in the women’s 10,000 metres race. Rashmitha ran the distance in 47:25.5 seconds to erase her old record of 47:53.09 which she had set in 2014. Divya T and Tharunashree with a timing of 51:35.0 and 1::02:5 came second and third respectively.
Vijaya Kumari’s double
Meanwhile, in the women’s 400 metres, Vijaya Kumari GK, who had pocketed the 200 metres gold on Monday, continued her fine form to finish first in 59.6 seconds. Sahana HD won the silver in 1:06.7 seconds, while Kavya with a timing of 1:11.3 clinched the bronze.
