Goutham rallies to overhaul Raghavendra

Goutham Anand rallied to beat Raghavendra Subramanya 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in the second round of the men’s singles category of the BCI AITA tennis tournament here on Tuesday.

After winning the first set in dominant fashion, Goutham faltered in the second and went down 4-6 as Raghavendra staged a splendid fightback.

But Goutham swatted every effort of his opponent to win the third set 6-3, and with it, the match.

In another fixture, Mohammed Fariz put in a commanding performance to dismantle Neeraj Choudhary 6-1, 6-0.

After losing the solitary game in the first set, Mohammed did not slip up even once in the second as he completed the rout.

Mohammed and Ramakrishna then combined together and fought hard to eventually to prevail 2-6, 6-3, 10-3 against  Pradeep Singhvir and Dhruv Pal.
