Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that Governor Vaju Bhai Vala has sought an action-taken report on the rape charges against Ramachandrapura mutt seer Raghaveshwara Bharathi.

Speaking to reporters, he said the government will soon send a detailed report to the Governor and denied charges that there was delay in filing charge sheet against the seer.
Meanwhile, Home Minister K J George has said that the government was planning to invoke Goonda Act against chain snatchers.

Speaking after garlanding the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahaudur Shastri on the occasion of the birth anniversary of late leaders, the minister said that the police are doing a good job in maintaining law and order.

“Though the police arrest chain snatchers, they are easily getting bail. Directions have been issued to the police to keep a watch on chain snatchers who are out on bail and those who have come from outside the State” he added.
