CM blaming Centre for all issues: Pralhad Joshi

Last Updated 04 October 2015, 17:35 IST

BJP State unit President Pralhad Joshi on Sunday criticised Congress leaders, including the party’s vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Minister D K Shivakumar over farmers’ suicide issue, during the second phase of Raitha Chaithanya Yatre in the town on Sunday.

Joshi grabbed the attention of hundreds of people gathered on the premises by speaking in Uttara Karnataka accent.

He alleged that Siddaramaiah has made it a habit to blame the Union government for all the issues. The chief minister has been stating that no funds are being released from the Union government to the State though funds have been released.

The funds – which were only 22 per cent – have now been increased to 42 per cent after BJP came to power in the Centre. The funds are not being judiciously utilised by the State government, he criticised.

Opposition Leader in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa predicted that the Congress would bite the dust in the 2018 elections.

Out of 515 farmers who committed suicide, the State government has provided compensation to only 108 families. Congress has failed to instil confidence among the farmers.

The district in-charge minister is conspicuous by his absence. Rahul Gandhi is still confused over visiting the district, he ridiculed.

Party leaders C T Ravi, V Somanna and others were present.
