BMTC campaign to discipline bus crew

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses will have to operate according to schedule, the driver has to stop the bus at the designated stops and the bus crew will have to follow traffic rules for they will be under a close watch on Monday.

The corporation, as part of its Bus Day excercise, will hold a ‘Bus Stop Discipline’
campaign in the City on Monday.

The BMTC teams, stationed at select bus stops across the City between 8 am to 12 noon, will monitor whether the bus drivers and conductors follow the traffic rules and road discipline.

The teams will make note of the drivers and conductors who are not complying with the rules and regulations and forward the same to the higher-ups in the corporation.

 BMTC Managing Director Ekroop Caur, said, “The whole idea is to create more and more awareness among the bus crew that following road discipline and obeying traffic rules is of utmost importance. We do keep holding such awareness drives on a regular basis.”
The BMTC teams on the City streets on Monday will check if the drivers are using mobile phones while driving, maintaining distance between vehicles while driving, their behaviour with passengers, stopping bus at the designated stop.

Team of officials
A team of five officials each will be stationed at the 11 bus stands/stops across the City  
Corporation Stop (Mission Road Bus Stop), Whitefield  TTMC (Vaidhei Hospital Bus Stop)
Bangalore Club (Residency Road ), Banashankari TTMC ( Towards Konnanakunte on Kanakapura Road), Jalahalli Cross (Towards Peenya Road), Manyata Tech Park, ORRCA ( Towards Bellandur Marathahalli Road), Electornic City ( Towards Wipro Gate), Silk Board Junction ( Towards Agara), Bapujinagar ( Towards K.R.Market) and Vijayanagar Bus Stand.
