Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said that Congress-led State government should go for an expert report on Yettinahole project, to take the affected people into confidence.

Speaking to media persons, the former CM alleged that the government had gone too far and it was very difficult to look back when it comes to the Yettinahole project.

He added that a concrete report by an expert would help people to understand the ground realities. The project needs to be implemented without bothering the people in the region.  He said the government should take up a debate on the issue.

The BJP leader alleged that State government had failed to make use of the offer put forth by the PM Narendra Modi on Kalasa - Banduri issue.

Yeddyurappa said that he along with other BJP leaders had met the prime minister and had also raised the issue.

The Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should take up the issue with the PM, he said and added that he was ready to take a delegation to discuss the issue.

Sonia’s remarks
Yeddyurappa said that the entire controversy on Kalasa - Banduri began following the statements made by Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Goa in 2007. At least now the Congress leaders should make sincere attempts to solve the problem, he added.
