BJP leader and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said on Sunday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should make efforts to seek Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s nod on the controversial Kalasa-Banduri project.
Yeddyurappa has penned a letter, urging the chief minister to stop criticising him and, instead, convince Sonia Gandhi on the issue.
Instead of convincing Sonia Gandhi, the Congress leaders have criticised the BJP during Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's visit to the State, Yeddyurappa said.
In 2007, Sonia Gandhi made a public statement that she was opposed to releasing Mahadayi water to Karnataka and extended her support to Goa, he added.
