Encroachers to face action, says Reddy

District-in-charge minister Ramalinga Reddy on Monday asked BBMP officials to take strict action against builders who have encroached upon public land at Thubarahalli near Kundanahalli Junction.

Reddy, who conducted inspection at Mahadevapura constituency on Monday, said that a 40-foot road should be constructed at Thubarahalli.

Residents expressed their anguish about the encroachment of road by apartment builders and said that though survey number 58/1and 58/2 were meant for road construction, the landlords were not allowing the work.

“There are more than 2,000 houses in this locality. Public land has been encroached upon by builders," said a resident. Reddy said that the builders who have undertaken illegal construction activities will not be spared.

He has promised to visit again on November 1.Reddy said that about 90 per cent of the potholes in the City have been filled up. “However, due to the lack of support from some agencies, the craters are forming again on the roads,” he said.
