JOIN US83rd birth anniversary celebrations of Bangarappa
The S Bangarappa Vichara Vedike and the S Bangarappa Foundation will organise the 4th edition of Namana-Chintana-Abhinandana programme to mark the 83rd birth anniversary of former chief minister Sarekoppa Bangarappa at White Petals on Ballari Road in the City on October 28.
Addressing the reporters on Saturday, the Managing Trustee of S Bangarappa Foundation, Madhu Bangarappa said that awards - Seva Bangara, Kala Bangara and Kreeda Bangara - instituted by the Vedike and the foundation, will be given away to the select three personalities for their immense contributions in the field of social service, art and culture and sports respectively during the event.
Cash prize of Rs 1 lakh will be given to the awardees.
“His (S Bangarappa’s) ideologies are relevant after his death. Under his guidance, we have achieved tremendous growth.
He was an avid sportsperson and was involved in many cultural activities,” Sorab MLA and the managing trustee of the foundation said.
The event, which includes three stages ‘Namana’, ‘Chintana’ and ‘Abhinandana’, will be presided over by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda. Governor of Karnataka Vajubhai Vala, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises G M Siddeshwara, actor Shiva rajkumar and other prominent personalities will attend the function.
