An enlightening session


PES College of Pharmacy organised ‘PESCP 5th International Conference’ recently.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr KS Ravindranath, Vice-Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and the theme of the conference was ‘Next Generation Pharmacist in Pharmaceutical Industry and in Clinical Practice’.   

Dr KS Ravindranath addressed the delegates and stressed on healthcare delivery systems where community pharmacist has a role of paramount importance.

Dr MR Doreswamy, Chancellor, PES University, in his presidential address said that emphasis be given to research and publications.

He also requested the state and central governments to give more importance to pharmacy education and research and appealed to the captains of pharma industries to award scholarships and incentives to meritorious students.

Present at the conference were Dr John E Moses from University of Nottingham, UK; Dr Shanaz Tejani-Butt, Medical College of Virginia, USA; Dr Rajendra Gyawali, Kathmandu University, Nepal; Dr Gareth WV Cave, Nottingham Trent University, UK; Dr Yuri Anissimov, Griffith University, Australia; Dr Marco Leonti, University of Cagliari, Italy; Dr Anish Sen Majumdar, Stempeutics Research Pvt Ltd, India, and Dr Mrs Chanda Kulkarni, Neuro-Psycho-Pharmacology, India.
The two-day conference attracted delegates from all across the country and there were over 700 delegates who took part in the conference.
