Last Updated 28 October 2015, 19:38 IST

It was a jolly good ride for students of Alpine School, Konanakunte, on Wednesday when Japanese automaker Honda brought for them a fleet of especially imported CRF 50 motorcycles as part of Honda CRF 50 Fest, its initiative to promote road safety among children.

More than 200 children aged between eight and 12 enjoyed the ride, according to the school authorities. At the end of the event, the organisers gave away prizes to the best riders.

Vivan Ranjana Achari, A Sharmishtha and Rishabh Arya won the first, second and third prize, respectively.

Achari was enthralled when asked about his experience. “We learnt riding. We also learnt to ride safely instead of indulging in rash driving. The bikes were excellent,” he said.

Rakesh Vats of Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Pvt Ltd said CRF 50 bike models were especially designed for children. The company has been hosting CRF 50 events in India for seven to eight years now.

The first event was held in Delhi on August 26 this year. Sixteen such events have been held so far. Besides Delhi and Bengauru, the other cities covered are Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi. The next event will be held in Pune and Ahmedabad.
