JOIN USA male attendant at Fortis Hospital on Cunningham Road was recently arrested for outraging the modesty of a female patient in the ward.
The accused, Shivakumar, has been remanded in judicial custody.
A 54-year-old woman suffering from dengue was admitted to the hospital on October 5 and shifted to bed number 354 on the third floor. Shivakumar touched her private parts on the pretext of performing some check-up.
The victim narrated the incident to her family members and her husband lodged a complaint seeking action.
The police registered a case against Shivakumar under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC, arrested him on October 7 and produced him before the court which remanded him in judicial custody. It is said Shivakumar had obtained bail and is out of jail.
