Milk tanker mows down woman

A speeding milk tanker mowed down a woman near Sonnenahalli in Kengeri on Friday morning.

The police identified the deceased as Sushilamma, 40, a resident of Sonnenahalli and employee of a garment factory.

On Friday, around 6.50 am, Sushilamma crossed the road and stood on the median waiting to cross to the other side to reach a bus stop. But the driver of a milk tanker lost control of the vehicle and hit the median, knocking down Sushilamma. She died on the spot.

Passersby informed the police who rushed to the spot and arrested the driver Dinesh. The tanker was on its way to Mandya when the accident took place. The Kengeri traffic police have registered a case.
