75-year-old gangraped in Davangere

A gang of five youth is said to have raped a 75-year-old woman at a temple on the outskirts of the town.

According to police, the woman, who hailed from Kurubarahalli in Hassan district, was eking out her livelihood by doing petty jobs at the temple.

Five youths, three of whom have been identified as Annesh (24), Suresh and Raju (both 25) and two others raped the elderly woman on the night of Sunday, police said.

The identity of the other two suspects is yet to be established. A case has been registered at women’s police station.
