Two pedestrians killed in separate accidents

Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Electronic City and in Chikkajala traffic police limits on Monday night.

According to the police, Gora Singh Bora, a 35-year-old resident of HSR Layout and a native of Nepal, was killed on the spot after a multiutility vehicle knocked him down at Singasandra near Electronic City. He was working as a security guard at a hotel in HSR Layout.

Bora had been to his friend’s house and was walking back home, when the accident occurred. Passersby informed the police, who shifted the body for post-mortem. The vehicle has been seized and the police are on the look out for the driver.

In another case, Ranganath, a 35-year-old labourer and resident of Bettadahalsuru, was killed by a speeding vehicle, while he was trying to cross the road near Vidyanagar Cross in Chikkajala.

The incident occurred while he was returning home after work. When the public tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled the spot. Police shifted Ranganath to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Efforts are on to trace the driver.
