JOIN USTutor rapes 14-year-old
A 14-year-old girl studying in the class 7 has allegedly been raped by a madrassa teacher, who lives next door to her house in south-east Delhi’s Govindpuri. The accused has been arrested, police said.
Thirty-year-old Imran teaches Urdu at a madrassa in Dakshinpuri and hails from Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri.
According to the police, the girl and the tutor were having an affair for the last two months. Despite her tender age, the 30-year-old man allegedly made physical relationship with the minor.
He also threatened the girl of dire consequences if she told anyone about their relations.
One day the girl and the man were caught together by the victim’s mother leading to a confrontation between the mother and the man. She accused him of using the minor to fulfill his desires, and warned him of dire consequences.
“During the confrontation with the victim’s mother, the accused tried to persuade her by saying that he is ready to marry the girl, if she agrees to it, but her mother rejected his proposal,” said a police officer investigating the case.
Victim’s mother then reported the matter to the police. The girl was then taken for a medical examination which confirmed sexual assault, which led to the registration of a case under section 376 of IPC and POCSO Act at Govindpuri police station and the accused was arrested immediately.
The girl was later counseled by an NGO in the presence of her mother, police added.
Police is interrogating the accused about the case and also talking to the students to whom he used to teach.
