JOIN USThe first day’s races of the Bangalore Winter Meeting, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed to Tuesday due to heavy rains rendering the track unsuitable for racing.
AC Satish Chandra, chairman of the Bangalore Turf Club, said, “Due to the heavy rains we have been receiving over the last couple of days, the underfoot conditions of the track are not ideal and hence we decided to postpone the race day to Tuesday.”
Race day two is to be held on Saturday but there are doubts on whether the track will be ready in time.
“The decision on whether we will be able to continue with Saturday’s races will be taken on Friday morning. It basically depends on the amount of sunshine we receive on Thursday,” said Chandra.
“The track will be inspected on Friday morning and depending on how the track has dried, we will take a call on Saturday’s races,” he added.
