The injured, whose condition is said to be critical, has been identified as DYFI Mangalore unit Secretary Ramesh. Ramesh and another person were on their way to Mangalore from Kundapur while the bus was going in the opposite direction.
A case has been registered.
Man held
Udupi police arrested a person in connection with the theft of a house last November and seized gold worth Rs 70,000. The arrested has been identified as Aravind (27), a native of Unchalli in Sirsi of Uttara Kannada. A case has been registered.
Youth drowns
A youth drowned while taking bath in river Nethravathi at Kalenja in Perne village of Uppinangady on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Kaushik (17), a resident of Koppatti village in Madikeri. He is the second PU student of St Aloysius College. It is said that he had visited his relatives house in Perne when the incident occurred.
