From dabbling with logos and designs as a copywriter in an advertisement firm to currently working under pressure with herbs and spices, Sara Oteri, one of the finalists of ‘Masterchef Australia Season 7’ on Star World has come a long way.

During the show, Sara worked towards only one goal most of the time – to see that the judges fell in love with her dish.

She faced a number of challenges which she took in her stride and had also experienced a few flustered moments. However, she overall considers her journey as a colourful ride.

Her emotions knew no bounds as she talks about the show and its biggest takeaways. She says, ‘The Masterchef’ is a big episode in my life. The journey is going great so far. It is such an amazing feeling to be here and fight for the title. I am loving every second of the show.”

The show has given her a lot to remember and take home but Sara recalls one of the mystery box challenges to be her favourite challenge. “It was one of the mystery box challenges that would be my most memorable experience. I cooked for Heston Blumenthal and the dish I cooked after was received with a lot of praise. It was one of my highest moments in the show.” The petite, culinary expert deals with stress in a positive way and practises yoga and meditation to stay focussed. “It relaxes my mind and keeps me calm and composed during the show,”  she says.

But the ambitious girl’s journey isn’t going to end here. She wants to work in a kitchen for some experience. “I want to work in a kitchen to gather some experience and travel the world. I want to visit all my friends in India and cook for them. I want to own my own kitchen but I know I will need some experience.”

But apart from her culinary skills, her hands are gifted in another way too. This is evident in her perfect eye-make up. To this, she responds with a laugh,“I think Indian girls are great in doing their eyes. And as for the key to looking good even while dealing with stressful situations, I get up earlier than everyone else and put on my make up. I also always have a smile on my face because nothing is more attractive then smiling.” There are various routes to reach success at such a young age, like her but Sara is motivated by one ‘mantra’. “One should do what they love and not worry about others. It is all about the taste that matters. Every one thinks they need to be all fancy but really you don’t need to be. So cook your own thing,” she advices.
