Business management students in colleges affiliated to Bangalore University are likely to learn a module on anti-corruption. The module has been proposed as part of ‘Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME)’, an initiative spearheaded by the United Nations Global Compact.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, BU Vice-Chancellor Prof B Thimme Gowda said the proposal would be implemented if the university’s academic bodies give their approval for the same. If implemented, this would apply to students in the university’s Canara Bank School of Management Studies and the 63 affiliate colleges. They are also mulling over a proposal to extend it to under graduate courses as well, the V-C added.

According to university officials, there are about 6,000 students pursuing MBA under the BU in various affiliate colleges.

Some topics in the anti-corruption module would include truth and disclosure, whistle-blowing and more. According to K Janardhanam, Director, Canara Bank School, the module would be spread across all the semesters.

That apart, a two-day ‘Global Convergence of Management Practices and Management Education’ would be hosted in the City on November 25 and 26, Prof Gowda said. The conference is jointly organised by the Canara Bank School of Management Studies and PRME.
