The Lokayukta court on Monday remanded former minister G Janardhana Reddy in judicial custody till December 3.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) had arrested Reddy on November 20 for interrogation in connection with the illegal export of iron ore in the name of Black Board Mining Company (BBMC). Reddy was produced before the court while the SIT sought the extension of his police custody. However, Reddy's counsel opposed the SIT's move and pleaded for judicial custody.
The counsel also moved the bail petition which would come up for hearing on November 25. Reddy was arrested by the SIT when he turned up for inquiry. He is accused of exporting huge quantity of ore in the name of BBMC.
